North Miss. Allstars, 02/27/2010

Two and a half hours of virtually non-stop blues rock. Say what you will about a lot of these jammier bands, but you really won’t have much negative to say about staying on stage for over two hours before taking a short two minute break and killing a four song, 20+ min encore. North Mississippi Allstars is a brief threepiece from Hernando, Mississippi and headed by Luther Dickinson on vocals and guitar, who is also the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes. I’m always a bit confused by these jammy bands; I don’t quite get it all. Nonetheless, I was delighted to attend and I met up with abut a half dozen other area tapers. North Mississippi Allstars were kind enough to save me the $30 by getting me on the guestlist too, so that sort of thing helps quite a bit.
Check out the recording that I made, and if you like it, please head over to the band’s official MySpace page to listen to some official studio recordings. If you still like what you hear, please consider giving your money to them somehow (buying songs on iTunes, buying a CD / shirt, etc). Good bands deserve good support. =)
