Two concerts so far this year, a few coming up

The year has gotten off to a slow start— the heavy snowfalls that blanketed the DC region are melting slowly and signs of life have started trickling back onto the calendars of the area venues. This year I am going to be test running this blog and operating it alongside my MySpace’s “DC Area Concerts Blog”, which will undoubtedly mean more work for a while, but hopefully given enough readership and interested here, I wil be able to fully ween myself off of updating the MySpace one and instead keep this place the focal point for my hobby.
You’ll find that the left margin of the screen lists upcoming area shows. It should all be pretty self explanatory, the only thing worth noting is that since I will personally be using this blog as a means by which to keep myself and my calendar organized, I may be including some “away” gigs that I’m considering; these are italicized for easy recognition.
I will likely be posting reviews of shows, set lists, pictures, and even audio from the concerts I attend and record. So far I am guestlisted for North Mississippi Allstars this Saturday at the State Theater in Falls Church, then hip-hop act, P.O.S. in DC on March 6, and Disco Biscuits at the 930 on 4/20. I’ve also bought tickets to both Coheed and Cambria shows at the 930 Club in May, as well as to see The Thermals up in B-more in mid-April. I’ll likely hit a Jónsi show, either in Philly or NY, and it’s also looking like I may make that trek to Philly for Manchester Orchestra.
To kick things off for now however, I’ll catch you up by posting the two shows that I attended so far this year:
